São Paulo, Rio, Paris: Aliyah fairs pave the way home

On November 11 in São Paulo, November 12 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and November 17 in Paris, three aliyah fairs were held. The Department for Aliyah Promotion of the World Zionist Organization played a key role in the preparation and conduct of these events, aimed at strengthening ties with potential repatriates.

At the fair in Paris, where Minister of Aliyah and Integration Ophir Sofer was present, the Department’s staff conducted a vibrant information campaign that attracted the attention of hundreds of participants. Many of them signed up for Hebrew classes. Similar successes were demonstrated by the events in Brazil.

The participation of Melissa Lopez-Hasvimajster, a graduate of the second stage of the “Geula” project, in the Department’s pavilion work gave special significance to the fair in São Paulo.

Head of the Aliya Promotion Department of WZO Marina Rozenberg Koritny noted:
“The participation of ‘Geula’ project graduates in initiatives aimed at supporting repatriation confirms the effectiveness of our approach. This project educates a new generation of women leaders capable of actively developing the Zionist movement.”
