Intel invests $15 million in Israeli startup Buildots, which applies AI in construction

Intel Capital will invest 15 million dollars in the Israeli startup Buildots, which uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to create digital twins of construction sites, reports the website NEWSru.co.il. These technologies allow for effective monitoring of construction processes, predicting potential difficulties, and reducing costs.

As part of the new investment round, Buildots raised a total of 121 million dollars. The startup was founded six years ago by graduates of the IDF’s elite “Talpiot” program. The founders decided to focus on an area where IT is traditionally underrepresented – construction. They offered builders the use of 360-degree cameras mounted on helmets to collect video recordings, which are then processed by software. This software is capable of creating three-dimensional models of objects, comparing them with the construction plan, and tracking work progress, significantly simplifying project management and accelerating their implementation.

Buildots also implemented AI algorithms that help predict potential delays and bottlenecks in construction processes. These forecasts allow for prompt problem-solving and cost reduction, making the work more efficient and economical.
