Three Israeli universities are among the top hundred best universities in the world

Israel has confirmed its positions on the global academic map: three leading universities of the country have entered the top hundred of the world’s best universities according to the prestigious ShanghaiRanking (ARWU) 2025.

The Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot ranked 71st and became the leader among Israeli universities. The Hebrew University of Jerusalem was in the 88th position, and the Technion — Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa — in the 97th.

This result once again confirms: Israel is not only a startup nation but also a country with a world-class level of university science, especially against the backdrop of unprecedented international challenges and boycotts faced by the Israeli academy after the events of October 7, 2023.

More and more Jews from the diaspora choose Israel for their studies

The high ranking of Israeli universities coincides with another important process: more and more young Jews from the diaspora are coming to study here. For them, it is an opportunity to receive a world-class education and at the same time become part of the living Jewish culture and modern Israeli life.

Israeli universities are open to students from all over the world: there are English-language programs, summer schools, and research internships. Every year, the Hebrew University, Technion, and the Weizmann Institute, among other higher education institutions in the country, welcome thousands of students from the USA, Europe, Latin America, Australia, and South Africa. Many of them acknowledge: choosing Israel was not only a professional step but also a personal decision to strengthen their connection with the people and the country.

Three universities among the top hundred in the world is not only an academic success. It is also a signal to Jewish youth around the world: Israel is a place where you can study, develop, and feel at home.
