The film is an international project: it was created in collaboration with American Paramount+, British BBC, and Israeli HOT.

A distinctive feature of Mozer’s work is its creation method. The 90-minute film presents a chronological reconstruction of events, based on video recordings from phones and body cameras, as well as testimonies from survivors. According to the director himself, the idea of creating a documentary came to him just a few hours after the attack began, and he gained access to the site of the tragedy two days later.

The film is entirely edited from archival materials: video recordings on mobile phones, car dashcam footage, social media content, and interviews with eyewitnesses. The director began collecting these materials almost immediately after the tragedy, finding recordings that survivors published on social networks.

Upon receiving the award, Mozer dedicated it to “the safe and immediate return of the hostages who are still in Gaza”. He emphasized that the film serves as a historical document, recording events as they happened.

The events of October 7 have become, according to experts, one of the most documented tragedies in human history — almost all participants had mobile phones, and many video recordings and messages were preserved. This feature allowed the creation of a film that critics note for its emotional accuracy and authenticity in covering the tragic events.

The work received high praise from the international press and the professional community. The jury noted that the film “transforms pain into testimony, and testimony into historical memory”.
