For new repatriates: recognition of diplomas and professional licenses will be simplified

Every year, about 10,000 repatriates with professions requiring licensing arrive in Israel. The Israeli government has approved a plan that will simplify the procedures for recognizing diplomas and obtaining professional licenses for new citizens of the country. These changes will help new repatriates to adapt professionally and integrate into Israeli life more quickly.

The plan includes the possibility of applying for a professional license while still in the country of origin. The timeframes for recognizing higher education diplomas will also be reduced. A unified national licensing center is being created, which will collect all the necessary information about the procedures and requirements for obtaining licenses in all relevant professions.

It is expected that the new rules will attract more repatriates from developed countries to Israel and have a positive impact on the country’s economic development. All changes will take effect from January 1, 2025.
