The acquisition of Wiz would allow Google to strengthen its position in the cloud computing sector, which is a priority strategy amid increasing competition in the digital technology market. Wiz’s technology provides security teams and developers with the ability to detect, assess, and prevent risks in the cloud environment. The platform scans cloud resources through APIs, conducts a deep analysis of network structure, access rights, and configuration errors that could be vulnerable to attackers.

Founded in 2020 by Assaf Rappaport, Yinon Costica, Ami Luttwak, and Roy Reznik, Wiz has become the fastest-growing startup in the world.

Wiz employs about 900 people in the US, Israel, Europe, and Asia, and plans to hire an additional 400 employees this year. More than 40% of Fortune 100 companies use the Wiz platform, including clients such as Morgan Stanley, Fox, Colgate-Palmolive, eSure, Priceline, Aon, BMW, and others.

Until now, the largest deal in the history of Israeli high-tech was Intel’s acquisition of 84% of Mobileye shares for $15.3 billion in 2017. At the time of sale, Mobileye was an 18-year-old company.
