Zionism Week in France – WZO

Zionism Week in France

From May 11 to May 18, 2025, at the initiative of the representation of the World Zionist Organization Department for the Promotion of Aliyah in France, the Zionism Week took place. It included dozens of diverse events aimed at strengthening Jewish identity, knowledge of the history of Zionism, and the popularization of Hebrew.

The week’s program included:

  • Tours in Paris following the footsteps of Theodor Herzl,
  • A symposium on Zionism at the French Parliament building,
  • Theatrical performances in Hebrew at schools,
  • A gala evening featuring Yaakov Hagoel, Chairman of the World Zionist Organization,
  • Events for ulpan students, including special classes dedicated to Zionism.

A special educational kit was prepared for teachers, which included colorful and engaging presentations with historical content, video materials with songs, plots, and interactive tasks.

A special event was the performance “Champion of Israel”, dedicated to the life and achievements of Oren Smadja – an Israeli judoka, Olympic medalist.

There were also lectures in Hebrew about the history of Israel and an evening of “Ivrit Social Club”, featuring Aviv Hamo — the head of the organization “Or le-Tkuma”, supporting families of fallen Israelis.

Comment by Marina Rosenberg Koritny, Head of the World Zionist Organization Department for the Promotion of Aliyah: “Zionism Week in France was a living proof that Zionism is not just history, but also the energy of the present, uniting generations and continents. Through language, culture, personal stories, and inspiring images of Israel, we strengthen the connection between the Jews of the diaspora and our common homeland. Such initiatives are not just educational events; they are an investment in the future of the Jewish people“.
