Two Israeli universities are among the top ten in the world in terms of the number of successful startup founders

Tel Aviv University (TAU) holds the seventh position for the second consecutive year in the global PitchBook ranking, which evaluates universities based on the entrepreneurial success of their graduates. This makes TAU the leader among non-American universities. The PitchBook ranking, one of the most authoritative in its field, analyzes the amount of venture capital raised by startups founded by university alumni.

In the last ten years, 865 TAU graduates have founded 736 companies, which together have attracted $30 billion in investments.

This year, the Technion in Haifa joined the leaders, entering the TOP-10 for the first time and taking the tenth place, moving up six positions compared to 2024. Over the decade, 783 Technion graduates have created 671 startups, which attracted $26.7 billion.

The rest of the spots in the top ten are occupied by American universities, including Berkeley, Stanford, Harvard, MIT, the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, the University of Texas, and the University of Ann Arbor.

Among non-American universities, the closest competitor – the University of Toronto – was only in the 17th position. Other Israeli universities also showed respectable results: The Hebrew University of Jerusalem took the 30th place, Reichman University the 47th, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev the 52nd, and Bar-Ilan University shared the 90-93rd places.
