The 39th World Zionist Congress convened in Jerusalem

Jerusalem, October 28-30, 2025 — The largest World Zionist Congress in history opened at the International Convention Center in Israel’s capital. About 2,500 delegates from 42 countries gathered to determine the future of key institutions of the Jewish world for the next five years.

This is the first congress in a face-to-face format in a decade. The events of October 2023 and the subsequent war became a turning point for the Jewish people, intensifying questions of unity, security, and identity. It is in this context that delegates discuss the strategic directions of the World Zionist Organization, The Jewish Agency, KKL-JNF, and Keren Hayesod — institutions that distribute over a billion dollars annually to projects around the world.

The Voice of Every Community

Among the participants are representatives of religious and secular movements across the spectrum, rabbis, public figures, youth leaders. For the first time, delegates were sent by Uganda, Kazakhstan, and several Latin American countries, reflecting the global nature of the Zionist movement.

The congress’s work is organized through ten thematic committees that consider resolutions and amendments to the WZO constitution. At the center of attention are issues of Jewish education, combating antisemitism, supporting repatriation, social justice, and the reconstruction of Israel after the war.

The Congress, founded by Theodor Herzl in 1897, remains a living symbol of Jewish democracy — a space where different voices unite around the common goal of strengthening Israel and the Jewish people. And today, 128 years after the first congress in Basel, this unity in diversity is more important than ever.
