“Sheba” ranked eighth among the best hospitals in the world
The Israeli medical center “Sheba” (Ramat Gan) continues to strengthen its position among the world’s leading hospitals. In the Newsweek ranking for 2025, it ranked 8th – one place higher than last year. Two years ago, “Sheba” was in 11th place, and now it consistently rises in the list of the best.
What does this mean for Israel?
The Newsweek ranking, prepared in collaboration with the analytics company Statista, covers 2445 hospitals from 30 countries. It takes into account the opinions of thousands of doctors, administrators, and patients, as well as objective indicators of treatment quality. “Sheba” has been among the best world clinics for seven consecutive years, confirming the high level of Israeli medicine.
Besides “Sheba,” the list includes:
- “Ichilov” (Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center) – 60th place,
- “Beilinson” (Rabin Medical Center, Petah Tikva) – 122nd place,
- “Hadassah Ein Kerem” (Jerusalem) – 242nd place.

Why is “Sheba” at the top?
The ranking considers four key factors:
- Feedback from medical professionals – evaluations by doctors and administrators,
- Patient satisfaction – survey results among patients,
- Clinical indicators – data on treatment quality and patient safety,
- Use of innovations – implementation of new technologies and treatment methods.
According to Professor Eyal Zimlichman, the chief innovation officer at “Sheba,” the clinic’s success is due to a combination of scientific research, technological achievements, and quality treatment. The hospital also actively collaborates with leading pharmaceutical companies and medical startups.
2024: Challenges and Achievements
This year has been a test for Israeli hospitals: doctors worked under difficult conditions, treated the wounded, helped freed hostages, and conducted rehabilitation for the victims. Despite this, “Sheba” not only withstood the pressure but also strengthened its status as a leading medical center.
“This ranking confirms the high level of Israeli medicine. We continue to develop, implement new technologies, and set new goals,” said “Sheba” director Professor Itzhak Kreiss.
Israeli Medicine on the World Stage
Israel has joined the list of countries with the highest number of hospitals in the ranking – 10 Israeli medical centers made it, comparable to Singapore. This once again confirms that Israeli hospitals not only meet global standards but also set a new level of quality for medical services.
